Counsel Retained

WVCP has retained Chuck Weinstock, a veteran New York land-use attorney with extensive experience in zoning, development rights, and administrative proceedings before New York City agencies, to represent our group and present the findings of our expert analysis to St. Luke’s Church. Mr. Weinstock has worked on complex zoning matters and has represented clients in proceedings involving the Department of Buildings and other land-use bodies across New York City.

Our hope is to pursue a constructive resolution that allows the church to move forward with the eventual construction of the Social Hall—replacing the facility lost in the 1982 fire—while avoiding the need to proceed with the proposed Mission Building. If a reasonable path forward cannot be reached, WVCP is prepared to challenge the church’s application through the appropriate channels at the Department of Buildings.
